The brand may already seem
familiar to you with its buses roving the streets of EDSA 24 hours. Since its entry in the Philippines in the
year 2000, King Long gradually became
popular among bus operators and bus line owners because of its unique design
and comfortable ride.
King Long Automotive Industry
Co., Ltd., the company that manufactures these buses, has applied the same
expertise and technical innovation in their new line of vehicles, the minivans. With this transfer of technology, the
manufacturer gives these vans the same riding comfort and efficiency which one
may experience riding in their bus.
The King Long UNIVAN, which
carries another name in China, was recently introduced at the Manila
International Auto Show at the World Trade Center. Focus Ventures Inc., the distributor of the
King Long minivans in the Philippines, dubbed the new vehicle as the King Long UNIVAN. The UNIVAN is equipped with a 2.8L Diesel
Engine which comes in 2-variants: the CRDI turbo-charged diesel engine that
gives an output of 90hp and the 4JB1 Isuzu Diesel engine which produces a
maximum power of 76 hp.
This 5.2-meter van can sit 14
passengers including the driver. Its
bubble top roof and spacious cabin allows optimum cargo space and easy access
for passengers. With these features, business-minded Filipinos who are looking
into the transportation services business might want to consider this
vehicle. The UNIVAN also comes in other
variants: the Cargo Van and the Medic Van.
The King Long Light Van export
has achieved a stable growth since it opened to overseas market in 2007. With
the export volume of more than 5000 units, King Long has been ranked No. 2
among Chinese minivan manufacturers.
In 2011, King Long has been hailed as a “National Vehicle” at home and ranked
among “China Top Brand” and “Famous Trademark of China”.
Besides the King Long UNIVAN, Focus Ventures distributes two other
automotive brands from China, CHANA (minivans and minitrucks) and FAW (Light
Duty Trucks).
